charge the battery full charge with a portable charger. then see if it cranks o.k. can you jump it with another battery?? if so, then the starter is not the problem. make sure all the starter cable and battery terminals are cleaned with a wire brush and reinstalled for good connections. you need to know it the battery is weak or the starter is poor. a 6 volt starter is fine, negative ground is fine. the generator has two terminals "F" and "A". --after it is running, ground the "F" terminal to the tractor frame with a jumper wire. connect a volt meter across the A and F terminals and see what the voltage is. if you get 13.5 volts or so, maybe your voltage regulator is bad?
