String modification for governor...

I know of three instances where someone has tied a string to the governor to pull it for more power. Is this hard on the engine? I know a International 300 or 350 my dad rode on as a kid that was set up to pull the string and go 35mph or more. I know a Oliver 770 with the modification that is used while cultivating as a replacement to shifting gears, and the third is just a mini-bike with lawn mower type engine. I know I could do it to my Super M, and the only reason would be for when I'm corn picking to give 'er a little more on the hills. I don't plan on using it for road speed (I admit, I may do it once or twice for kicks), but how hard is it on the engine? Let me know of any expirences or advice. Thanks.
