I had the same problem with my M last saturday. There is two bolts on each side that hold the brake covere to the deck plate. You also have to remove the belt pulley assembly and the bolts from there back. It is all one piece. Scrape around with a screwdriver too, I had two bolts that were completely cover by dirt. If you want I can count the # of bolts that hold it on, but I wont be able to tell you until tomorrow. I am rebuilding it at school and we have a snow day today. Let me know how shes coming.
