I paid 2500 for a 1951 MD that was in worse condition than the one you described. The sheet metal was rusty, the guy pull started it on diesel, it wouldn't start on gas, and the engine had plenty of blow-by. I paid too much for the one I got. I ended up rebuilding the engine as well as about everything else on the tractor. I could give you the total bill of my restoration if you would like. If the injection pump has to be rebuilt be prepared to spend money. I ended up with $800 in the pump. You can still get parts for these tractors, granted they are harder to find than gas tractors but they are still out there. The heads weren't necessarily the weak spots on the tractor. They had to be properly warmed up by starting on gas and then cooled down by running on gas when you were done. Many times the reason the head cracked was because they weren't warmed up and cooled down properly. It sounds like it isn't too bad of a deal, I would get it. My .02 cents worth. Karl
