My first thought would be that it was some onry dang kids that done it. I don't know where the tractor was sitting (possibly at your residence) but you might observe and talk to some of the kids. Kids will generally sooner or later talk, unlike adults. You may want to start with unsuspected kids to see if they know anything. They may likely rat on the bad kids if they know something. Kids that are out and about unsupervised would be likey suspects. You may also want to question any adults that would of had visual observance to the location of tractor. They might of seen something. My second thought would be enemies. Anybody that would be an enemy of yours may have done it. I would expect a little more creativity from an adult though. Such as sugar in gas tank, tire destruction, tampering, and so on. You might want to do a little investigating yourself. The cops these days, seem to just want to come out and make up a report, check out what happened, maybe question an indivdual or two besides you and when they get back in there car, they could care less and just forget about. Throw the report in a file cabinet when they get back to the office and thats that. They just move on to the next dispatch. Very rarely do they do an elaborate investigation, follow up the case, and keep tabs on the suspect untill caught. They pretty much just go after known law breakers, traffic violaters, and people they have proof on. They don't seem to want to do alot of detective work. I guess they just consentrate on getting back down to Dunkin Doughnuts.

Looking around at my new neighbors, most of whom are city raised and have recently acquired their first mini-farms of five to fifteen acres and also from reading questions ask at various discussion sites on the web it is frighteningly apparent that a great many guys (and a few gals) are learning by trial and error and mostly error how to use a very dangerous piece of farm equipment. It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro ... [Read Article]
