I'm checking out a 254 IH diesel 4wd with a bad engine. Head is cracked and in pieces. I doubt the engine is salvagable, but the tractor appears to be the perfect size and power for my needs. Any ideas about repower options? Current engine is a small 3 cylinder mitsubishi (iseki?) diesel. I know I am stabbing in the dark looking for someone who knows what will fit what, but any ideas are welcome. If I can get the price right, it may be worth sinking 2K in an engine transplant. Heads are $720 less valves and camshaft. I guess is the head could possibly be repaired, but who knows.
