Check the serial number on right side of engine. Most of them (but not all) matched. I would suspect that it is the same and the number indicates that the tractor was produced in 1940. I agree with Dave and Andy. Check the casting letters as well. Your serial number indicates that the tractor was assembled between Jan. 1 1940 and Dec. 31 1940. Doesn't mean that they didn't use left over 39 parts to assemble it. And I am like Andy and doubt they changed the design of plateform on mid-night Dec. 31 1939 and all H's after that had the new designed plateform. I also wouldn't rule out that the tractor you got isn't a piece together tractor. The rear end of a 39 put onto the front of a 1940 or what ever. Maybe somebody just changed the plateform. Alot of peiceing together has went on over the years.
