Here's a little snow day survival Brown 1Lb. of hamburger or ground chuck or venison or moose burger Place in large kettle Dice 1 large onion shred 5 or 6 medium potatoes shred 4 or 5 large carrots Dice two celery stalks Add two cups tomato juice and 1 quart of water/add as necessary Toss in a half cup of rice or pearled barley Season to taste with salt, pepper and/or worcestershire sauce stir it all together and let it simmer for several hours on low heat. Hamburger soup for a snowy day..it'll warm the cockels of your heart...Mike in Exeter Ontario
