Real truth is the silver rims IHC used were NEVER plated at all.... ALWAYS painted. I used to buy the rims & wheels for the FARMALL plant back in the late 70's & early 80's. Even though someone from this site said His '81 1486 had "Galvanized Rims" I know better. I've since checked with two people who used to work for Electric Wheel Co. in Quincy that made all of IHC's rims & Wheels and neither one of them EVER remember reading the word "PLATED" in ANY records or specs. "IF" You had them plated, I think Cadmium plating would be closest in color to OEM.... but That's illegal now... Bright Clear Zinc plating would be too shiny...Maybe a Tin plating would be close, similar to Cad. But I think after You had rims Hot Dip Galvanized You's be REAL unhappy and end up painting them anyhow.
