Several places offer after market battery boxes. You might check out Central Tractor in Des Moines, IA., (1-888-8CT-FARM) they offer box and lid for around $80. You should have a piece of bar stock, with threaded holes in each end, running crosswise and bolted to the transmission cover. On both sides of this bar there may be two bolts that have large heads and are not screwed all the way into the tranny cover/these fit into the grooves & slides on the bottom of the battery box. I found out the grooves in the after market box don't match up with the bolts so just slipped a couple of 1/2" boards under the box and used the threaded holes in the bar to bolt the box down. Over the years, corrosion may have gotten to your bar and slide bolts and they may not be there.
