I'm 47 yrs. young, I was born about 20yrs. late. I'm the Operations Supervisor for the City of Boulder's Wastewater Treatment Facility. I've loved the Red tractors since I was a kid. My father was a part time farmer, worked a full time job and also had one or two milk cows, chickens, horses and sheep. In my teens I couldn't wait to get away from my fathers rinky-dink farm operation quick enough. Joined the Air Force and spent 6 yrs. in California before I realize that I really missed that rinky-dink farm. I returned from California to Colorado and got involved with helping my father with his operation. He still lives on his small farm but is unable to do any of it, he's had 3 strokes in the last 4 yrs. which have him slowed down pretty much.
I, like my father did, now run a part time farm operation, on his farm, with some beef cattle. This gives my father great enjoyment watching and talking with me as I work on the equipment during the winter time repairs. At the prestent I'm replacing the torque amplifier in my SMTA. I use my Farmalls for putting up hay for my livestock and for family and friends. I have a 1953 Farmall Cub, a 1954 Farmall SMTA, a 1955 Farmall 200, a 1955 Farmall 300 and a 1956 Farmall 400. All of our hay equipment is New Holland, I even have my uncles first baler a 1948 NH 80 wire tie. Like I said I was born 20 yrs. to late but then I wouldn't have this computer to listen to all of the flip flap going on around the country or had found all the nice folks out there that I have met in my tractor journies.
Take care all and say a prayer for the families the latest space shuttle tragety.
Ernie Bob

Today's Featured Article - Choosin, Mounting and Using a Bush Hog Type Mower - by Francis Robinson. Looking around at my new neighbors, most of whom are city raised and have recently acquired their first mini-farms of five to fifteen acres and also from reading questions ask at various discussion sites on the web it is frighteningly apparent that a great many guys (and a few gals) are learning by trial and error and mostly error how to use a very dangerous piece of farm equipment. It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro ... [Read Article]
