a compresstion test is not a bad idea, but a low reading will tell you to things. one that the rings are bad shoot or what ever you will. or two that the valve are not sealing properly. if you get low compression in the cylinders than you must determain what one it is in ored to do so poor oil in throug the spark plug hole, if the comprestion increase than the rings are gone if not the valves are not sealing. have you ever done a compresstion test and do you have a tester? if not the local parts house will hock you up and teach you how to, and if not we will.
