Thanks to everyone who responded to my poll! I appreciate all of your comments and kind words. It is nice to know that there are so many good people out there in Internet land. I think I'll just not post so often on the other discussion boards, that's where the problems seem to come from.

For those who don't know all that much about me, I am 21 years old (22 in March), have lived in SW North Dakota all my life, grown up on the family farm (where I've learned pretty much everything I know about tractors), and am currently going to college to be an elementary teacher.

I've learned a ton about tractors by working on them with my Dad and even just tinkering with them by myself. My H was the first tractor I did a complete overhaul on by myself, the SMTA received an engine transplant and a new head. Our other farm tractors get routine maintenance and tune ups from me and sometimes a little more.

I think the best way to learn about these old tractors is to get yourself a Farmall letter series and tear into it! Take time and take pictures so you know how it all goes back together. Best thing I ever did was to start labeling individual parts and put them in ziplock bags - much better than a 5 gallon bucket full of parts!

Good luck to all, and I'll be around to answer the questions I know - or at least give my opinion of the situation.
