Here's the part number for that pre-cleaner since you have all the books: 361-413-R1. You will find it in both the SM/SM-TA parts books and the 400/450 parts books. There was even a picture of the part in both books at my IH dealer. That is original equipment for my tractor, and I don't want to change that. Power steering is what effects me directly, not how the air goes into the tractor. For example, I'm going to fix the old pre-cleaner with a piece of PVC or similar item so I don't break the new one, but when I'm showing it off (like not driving it through the woods cutting firewood) I want to put the good one on. I would like to do the same to the PS, but it wouldn't be often. I may just put a power steering pump on it and not mess with it, but I really don't want to cut the shaft in case I regret it later. Thanks for the post.
