Well I have now got my '53 Super A running and working well and have been taking it for short drives around my back yard (that is very short). Due to the rather entertaining incline and several feet of snow I've just about given up on the steering wheel and am using the brakes. I have not done much operating of antique tractors so I have little comparison but I'm questioning the brakes. The left one seems to take a lot of pressure before it works but engages fairly smoothly and isn't very noisy. The right one squeals and squeaks (quite loudly) but doesn't take much pressure. Also if the right wheel is spinning and I'm trying to get going again and apply the right brake sometimes it shakes and engages roughly (the pedal also pulsates a bit while it's doing this). I was wondering if these are signs I might need to replace the brake bands and seals etc? Any other suggestions would be appreciated. SAm in NS
