take off the air cleaner hose tha runs to the carb look in to the carb and see if the butterfly plate has a bolt on it still. if you dont see on than the bolt head broke off and went into the combustion camber and is stuck in the head of the piston. this can be removed by sticking a screw driver in and losening it than go in with a magnet or if it is brass then put grease on the end of the screw driver and it will pick it up. i would look for this and pull the plug and let the motor spin to check the bearings before you go and check the valves.
