I had a similar problem with my Farmall 300. I did the same thing as Steven for about 8 years because my tractor would occasionally decide to lean out and then die. I knew what the problem was from the very beginning for when I would take the glass fuel bowl off, no gas would come out. I finally did what I should of done from the very beginning, I took the gas tank off to flush it out. I discovered that the main problem with my tank was not just only rust, But it had globules of blackish varnish rolling around at the bottom of the tank from when the tractor must of sat for long periods of time over the years. It was some what amazing that these globules would decide to act like a check valve at the worst time. Since I flushed the tank out, I've never had a fuel problem again. Thanks Ray in PA.
