On reasonably level fields I could pull my 490 John Deere 4 row planter with fertilizer attachment with a John Deere H, but it was a little slow 'cause the JD H couldn't handle the planter in 3rd gear and 2nd was a kinda slow, so I used my Farmall H most of the time. You got awful good economy planting with the JD H, all day long on about 5 gallons of gas. Farmall H only used about 8 gallons in a day too.
