I totally agree with you. Years ago at work a worker commented on what a dangerous road rt. 15 here in Pa. was. I stunned the whole crew when I said that there is no such thing as a dangerous road only dangerous drivers. As time goes by it is becoming increasingly true. I watch drivers do a lot of stupid things putting themselves and other innocent drivers lives in jeapordy simply because they are in hurry. I had a driver pass me on a curve, in which there was no possible way he could see around my truck enough to make sure it was clear to pass. If I hadn't caught the movement in my mirror and gotten off the road he would have caused a head on crash and for what. Because he was in such a big hurry he couldn't wait to follow me for another 1000 feet where the roadway turned into four lanes and could have passed safely putting NOBODY in danger.
All the years growing up, whenever the family would be out and the weather turned nasty, my dad would always give the same old speech about what to do in an emergency situation and how to handle the vehicle. I used to think to myself like all kids yea, yea, dad same old speech heard it all before. Now I am glad I heard the same old speech over and over again because I learned from it. My wife will not ride with other drivers in inclement weather except me. Because she observed when we were dating that I am much more attentive to the road conditions and feels completely safe with me.
