TORQUE 756

Let me try this question again----have a 756 IHC gas that I was driving with the torque lever in the forward position--direct drive---the tractor started loosing power and acting like it was pulling a heavy load when in fact it wasn't pulling anything pulled the lever back into the slower more powerful running position and it ran fine except being slower.
Just prior to this happening I had run it a couple of miles in direct drive with the gas lever in the max position running it down the road a little faster than I usually drive it.
This was a couple years ago and I have never tried to put it back into the direct drive position--lever forward.
It works very well in the lever back position but it is a slower speed.
I would like to get it into the direct drive position again and leave it there as I only use the tractor to do a little bush hogging about 10 hours per year.
The light on the dash that tells whether I have hyd. oil pressure does not work--how is that light removed?
Thanks for your help a few days ago thought I could give a little more info. concerning the problem.
