My Dad brought home an H when I was 15 years old. He promply put a front mount buzz saw on it and taught me what a hard days work meant. We buzzed tons of wood, all those years ago. My Dad died in 1991. The 1942 Farmall sat up across the road, waiting for me. Three years ago I realized what it was waiting for. It was waiting for my Dad. Since he was gone, that reverted to me. I have since spent 3 years hunting for parts, steel wheels, special attachments, manifold heat shields, small starting tanks, and all of the other fun stuff. I have it all now. Now, I realize, the fun and work begins. Farmall H's are patient, persistant, logical, and weather-proof. Simple is usually the problem. Do not touch an H unless you are willing to get grease and oil on your pants. Farmall H's are magical. They can magically remove you from your truck at Hiway speed and deposit you in front of them with your checkbook in your hand and a smile on your face. I own 14 of them, in various states of repair, disrepair, and everything in between. I am not an expert in any way, shape, or form, but I do know Farmall H's. Crank start a Farmall on a September day, feel the power of the tractor take over your twist, and hear the bellow from the Kerosene Manifold. I guarantee you will know them too.
