I know a lot of guys on the site will disagree with me but if the tractor was mine I would take the TA out of it and put in the straight shaft. My dad bought a 460 new with TA and it stayed in the shop more than it worked until it went out of warranty. Then years later, I bought a 1566 new with TA and it went to the shop four times in warranty. Then we put the straight shaft in it. When I bought a new 1086 in '78, it was without TA.
