That is exactly what I found out plowing with the 504. The 300 lugged the plow better than the 504. You also have to remember we are talking about a 504 with a newly rebuilt engine. The 300 probably had 15,000,hours on it and on its 4th set of pistons and sleeves. 504 was probably less than 50 hours from rebuild, whereas 300 probably had 2000 hours since rebuild. I guess IH droped all sleeved gas engines in the mid 60s. Oh well just another nail in their coffin.
