I going to assume you took an Ensign vaporizer off and put an Impco on. Also assume you still have an Ensign carb. Just guessing, but you probably hooked up the small balance line from the old carb to the new vaporizer which you do not need to do. Leave the hole open on the vaporizer and plug it on the carb. There should be a large load mixture adjustment and a small idle mixture adjustment on the Ensign carb. If the low pressure diaphram in the vaporizer has small hole in it the idle response will be severely affected. I said that just in case you have a used vaporizer. Also if the vaporizer is from an engine with a drastic difference in cubic inch air flow, the spring might need to be changed to fit your engine. They are color coded for the different pressures.
