Yeah - that pickup is supposed to be empty inside so it will float in oil. You need to get the oil out of yours then seal that hole. I found the same thing when I dropped the pan on my Super H several years ago. My solution was to drain the float, thoroughly clean (sandblast and degrease) the area around the hole, then seal the opening with a dab of JB Weld. I dropped the pan on that tractor a couple weeks ago to do some other work. Checked the pickup and found my "repair" is still working - it still floated like a cork when dropped into a bucket of old oil!
