I never knew that. I had heard that only 5 or 6 thousand SMTA's were built, but I looked it up in my serial number book. There were 297,717 M's built, 52,126 Super M's built, and 23,522 SMTA's built. Now, I see our numbers disagree by about 3 thousand. I don't know if we'll ever know an exact figure for any tractor built from that era, becuase frankly I don't think anybody had a splinter of a thought that the serial numbers would be so sought for. Think of what we may be making today that 50 years from now people will be scouring for serial numbers. A SMTA is in my wish list, if I can find one for a good price, but it is in a way relieving that there are nearly that many out there.
