I agree with gene, give tractors some respect. Those wheel tread adjustments can be used to suit most situations. Like gene I have close to 50 years on tractors seats, never had an upset. Farmed with 7-9 tractors, 5-6 employees, no tractor rollovers in 25 years. I have been out of farming since mid 80's. At that time I was beginning to see a cavalier attitude towards safety by employees and prospective employees. Working around farm and other equipment since, I have seen that attitude deteriorate even further. I have even been around job sights where there are guys I will not work with. I turned 60 this summer, and have no mended bones or stiches in this old carcass, I intend to keep it that way. Just seems as though with all the safety devices, ROPS, seat belts, boots, etc., guys have the attitude they can't get hurt. Used to harvest lo-bush or wild blueberries with, and yes they have a tractor mounted harvester for these. Tractor rear wheels set 8 foot centres plus. Lo-bush blueberries on the east coast are grown on some quite steep terrain. A tractor on wide wheel track or duals will slide side ways rather than upset and yes I have had this happen. You can do these things and still use good judgement. I have farmed with Farmalls with narrow fronts and no rear fenders, skid steer loaders, 100+ hp tractors with ROPS cabs and duals; I have seen most of it and yes they DO COMMAND RESPECT.

At one time I had seven restored examples which were shown and used in ploughing matches. As most restorers, I have a number of war stories I can relate on a range of topics that may help other like minded and interested people. Perhaps my first p
