New battery's tend to set on shelf awhile before they sell. Stores and dealerships tend to charge the battery or advise to charge it to insure the battery is fully charged when it is released to customer. With that in mind, you may be charging a battery that is already fully charged. I would try using the battery in the BN and see how it performs. If all goes well, I'd say you are good to go. If it don't, have the battery charged and load tested where you bought it. If that checks out o.k. then you might check the charging system or a possible drain on the tractor. I ussually don't charge new battery's unless they are like dead and won't start the tractor when you first put them in. A 9 to 10A charge is a pretty good charge and will heat the battery up so to speak in several minutes especially if battery is fully charged. That amount of charge on your battery charger is more for charging a dead battery up enough to start tractor in short time. The 2A charge is a much lesser charge and requires alot more time, like all night on a dead battery. I like the bigger amp charge on battery chargers simply becuase they do charge faster but that is my personal prefferance. The 2A charge may be better for battery but requires the extra time.
