I will suggest two scenarios keep the 400 and buy a SA, 100, 130 or 140. If your keeping 400 as others suggest you do. Why have another tractor around that takes almost as much room as the 400. In fact a 400 with a nf will out manuver a C or SC with wf. Now that is if you were keeping the 400. I can remember my dad looking for a second tractor to go with his Farmall 300 in 1958. 230 was only couple hunderd dollars more than 130 at time. He opted for 130 and as he said 300 would fit anywhere 230 would He wanted a tractor more manuverable than 300.

Since you say two tractors are too much and believe me I have no problem with C or SC. as a single tractor. However you have been used to live PTO. Two tractors I would give carful consideration are Farmalls 340 or 504. I would stay away from utilities, unless you get into some of the newer ones like 444,354, 384, etc.
