simple economics would say change to 12 volts if you need a regulator. you can get a used alternator from a junkyard for$20 or a rebuilt one at a discount auto supply for $35, but a new regulator for your b will be anywhere from $40 to $80 depending where you get it. if you are going to use your tractor lights much you would really appreiciate the many times brighter 12 volt lights. if you would like to stay with 6volts and use an alternator i could fix you up with one. your b will crank over fine with 6 volts, but we have a bunch of m's and i would never buy a 6 volt battery for them, i change them over to 12 volts. good luck with your tractor.
