BRIAN, I have been in the automotive machine shop business all my life . First thing is the engine getting too much oil to the overhead?? Rocker arms and shaft worn real bad?? Oil return in head plugged up??? These are the easy check.If you not going to take the engine down soon.I would bring piston to top dead center both valve closed . Make a air adapter out of old spark plug.Put about 80-90 lb. pressure in cyl make sure tractor is in gear to keep engine from turning. Remove rocker arms and valve springs and install umbrella type oil seal,Install springs and go to next cyl.Any good part store or machine shop should have the seals and a tool to remove springs with the head on . Ask around they can help you. This will get you by for long time or until you can take off head and fix the worn valve stems and valve guides. Earl In Illinois
