War-time pneumatic wheels

I read somewhere that during WWII tractors came with steel front and rear. I began restoring the front wheels on my 1941 M and found what seems to be a date of 1944. This would place it squarely in the war-time usage. Were pneumatics made and sold during this time also? These rims also have the name Goodyear stamped in them. Did IH make there own rims, or were they contracted out? Thanks for any info.
