That happened to me back in the '70s when rebuilding a 302 for a '68 Camaro...had the crand turned down .010 all around, as I turned the assembly after each rod was installed, it locked right up on me. Found the there was a .020 rod bearing miss-boxed in my .010 bearing set. Simply returned the odd bearing for exchange and all was well.
