I've heard someone say it can be done with out dropping the belly pump. I know it would be pretty hard without removing the pump. I did mine while I had the pump out anyway, they were pretty easy to do then. There are 2 seals, one above the other. You might as well change them both as long as you're down there. Pulling the belly pump isn't all that hard, I used 2 pieces of 3/8" threaded rod about 12" long in place of two of the bolts that hold the pump in. These will guide it down straight and back up straight. I used a floor jack to lower and raise the pump. Good luck, which ever way you decide to use. John
