Thanks a lot for the info. I seem to do a lot of engine work on my wife's car, but never have I done a flat head. I recently replaced the head in the car without any problems. Is there any way to up the horsepower in a Cub engine? When the grass gets tall it pulls really hard on that 59" mower deck in first gear. It takes a long time to mow about 4 acres. But my ground is too hilly to run the mower on the Super C with the tricycle gear.
