Why did he drag the tractor when he could have carried a 20 lb bottle of LP to the tractor? That is a plus I did not mention. You can keep a big tank if you farm, or you can get a small "nurse" tank to carry around. Then when you run out of fuel, you take a small bottle to the machine. Also, you don't have to mess with pouring some in the carb to get one started after running it out. Run a diesel or gas dry and you need work to get her going, run a LP dry and put in fuel and go again.
A grill type bottle would be fine for occasional mowing or parading. Unless you are pulling, you could run a few hours on that much. Again, I am not trying to discourage the guy, just stating why I like them because I do not think one thing about gas is better than LP. Converting one is a lot of work and could get expensive for no gain in my opinion. I bet any mechanic that has worked on both will tell you a LP engine runs cleaner and will last longer than a gas engine.
