73 1066 likes it's fuel

I purchased my 1066 last fall. 4700 hrs on tractor. New rear skins,hub duals 70%,paint very good, full set of weights, mechanically solid as a rock. I like everything about this tractor except fuel consumption. Haven't put it on a dyno yet, but my uncle believes it's cranking out 150 + plus horses. I've had it on a 10ft mounted chisal plow running in high 1st. Wanted to see if it had any problems,figured this would make or break it.This did pull the RPM's down some but still had a lot of wheel slip. Chiseled 45 acres, used around 60 gallons of fuel and engine oil never left the full mark. factory is around 125. Tractor is larger then I was actually looking for, but thought I got a good buy at $5000.00. Anyway it is mainly used for endloader, mowing, raking, and baling. Will turning it down to factory improve fuel consumption? Would it help to turn it lower then factoty horse power? Doesn't seem to matter if it's pulling hard or just baling hay.thanks for any info.
