I have a 6 volt alternator on a Super A. All you have to do is change one internal wire in that alternator to make it 6 volt. Use out your 6 volt battery and then do what you want. Buy another 6 volt battery or change the alternator back to 12 volt and buy a 12 volt battery. For the 6 volt alternator all you have to change is tractor from positive to negative ground. My Farmall 130 has a 12 volt alternator that cost me a coil, ballast resistor and light. I guarentee my SA will start in cold when 130 wont. The 6 volt system is a lot easier on starter drive and ring gear. I will say this, next time battery goes on 130 it also is going to 6 volt. One wire in alternator, I still have my 6 volt coil and I can heave ballast resistor and light in garbage.
