Are you talking about painting the back surface of the sealed beam bulb? I don't see what that would accomplish, but maybe I am confused. Are you sure you have a sealed beam bulb or a bulb and reflector? Hold the sealed beam bulb up to a light and see what color comes though, maybe you don't need to paint it. Just a thought. I'm not sure what to tell you, wish I could help more.
