Mark, for what it is worth, I bought one like you are describing only in worse condition two months ago. It was at a consignment sale.

Both rear tires and rims were completely trash. Hood was bent down the middle like a lot of them are. Pneumatic lift was not complete and what was there was also trash. Lights were mostly missing. Engine was (and still is) stuck. Cooling system was tight and full of antifreeze. Front tires were flat but did hold air. Grill was mashed in.

After I got it home and checked it over, the following is the assement. Will need new rear rims and tires and new front tires. Hood straightened and the grill will be acceptable after a lot of work. Fenders are straight. Seat is in good shape. Electrical wiring will need to be replaced along with all lights. Don't know yet about the generator, mag or starter yet. New battery is also on the list. No paint and lots of surface rust. Engine is still stuck after trying just about everything. No rust or water where it shouldn't be but I am sure it will require at the least a set of sleeves and pistons.

Paid $325 for it and I still think it was cheep.

I will have at least $400 in rear tires, tubes and rims. So $700 sounds good to me, GO FOR IT!!!!!
