If the old girl is getting tired then give it a ovehaul , but when ya do this it must be done with great care as this is not and engine that can just be throwen togeather as it's age has made some core shifts in the block and it is wise to have it bored .010 and install the over size sleeves and if i was doing it i would take it to someone that can set up off the mains on a big boreing bar that way you get all the sleeves in line and a good line bore also don't hurt as for the power well i don't think that after a good breakin that 160 to 170 is not out of the question and a good pyrometer to watch the temp. And if this is not enough then go find a good old 1066 and set it like i have a buddy's set we have no problem choppen corn in 4th low with the stick ahead and my old 806 with no charger on it will run the same chopper in 2nd low stick ahead.
