A few questions

Have a 400 gas that has decided not to run. Was working on the charging system and noticed that after I started the darn thing it seemed to miss. Pulled plug wires one at a time and found # 2 not firing. Anyhow, when I was near the distributer I notice that the coil was EXTREMLY hot. Put the wiring back to the way the PO had it and now it will not start. Seems to have spark at each plug (orange at #2). Too dark to continue tonight. Would like to get some thoughts on which way to go and what to check next.
