Patrick, I'm a little mystified as to how you got the cam out without removing the oil pump. It would be a tough job getting one of the main bearing caps off with the pump still in. But the pump runs off a gear on the cam, and the cam simply wont pull out if the oil pump gear is meshed into it. Is the gear at the top of the pump somehow so mangled that it won't pull down through?
