old farmall tractor

I have a friend who has an OLD Farmall that I would like to help him identify. Can anyone help? Near the front on an air cleaner? there is a tag that says "A50" - and also there is another number on the side of the radiator support: "29900A" -> or maybe "299ODA". (everything else is rust... Is this enough info to go on?? THANKS
