OH OH. Look What The Dog Drug Home

"Old Raceway M" I'm naming it. The UPS fellar (my daugther looks like him) tipped me on this one last September. I looked it over thoroughly and these pictures were taken then. This M farmed in Boone County Indiana until 1969. A family who runs an RV camp next to Indianapolis Raceway Park have had it ever since. It has only seen light work pulling a wagon around. It was last run in 1995 or 1996. It was stuck when I first saw it. I loaded the cylinders with PB Blaster. The spark plugs showed no rust and the engine oil looked good. The radiator was still full of coolant. Main tire on the brake side was blown out.

In December they pulled it to a new location. As they were pulling slowly, he selected 5th. gear and let out the clutch. The engine freed up.

We spoke once in January but his Mom still didn't want to let the M go. I got a surprised phone call yesterday and he wanted to know if I would take it for $500. I dropped the check off yesterday and got the M delivered today via a rollback trailer with a winch. I was not taking any chances of the fellow's Mom backing out on the deal so I moved quickly getting it out of there.

Wish me luck. I hope I don't run into major surprises like I did on Old Rusty H last year.
