Jimmy, We used to do a lot of custom harvesting when I was younger. One fellow that we used to cut wheat for in Kansas, Floyd Wolery which has since passed away, used to pull-start his L500 Case by himself. One trip on the harvest to his place, we noticed a hugh chain(1' diameter links) on the bed of his International truck. We asked him what the thing was for and this is what he told us. The Case was hard to start and always had to pull it. His wife was not able to help. He would hook the truck to the tractor, pull the throtle out a little on the truck, put it in low gear and take off. He would jump out of the truck and onto the tractor and start it. Then he would lock the tractor brakes and kill the truck engine. One time the chain broke. He tried catching on foot but couldn't. He ran back to the tractor, drove it ahead of the truck and waited. When the truck got there he tried to climb in but kept getting knocked down. All he could think of was that he had just filled the truck with gas and the river was less than a mile away. After several more attempts he finally caught the truck and got everything under control. He said he'd like to see the truck break this chain. One fo those days, Leon
