SCOTT - About 30+ yrs ago Dad & I had the transmission & rearend of His '51 M totally empty except for the reverse idler gear. And with just the I&T manual We got it back together and re-coupled (We had it split on stands) in about 2 days after We got all the new bearings & seals & gaskets hunted up. The lower transmission shaft goes in first, followed by the upper transmission shaft then the differential is installed. OR AS THE BOOK SAYS... Re-install in reverse order of disassembly!And that assumes You took it apart. The Clutch/brake shaft rides on bushings right?
