We had a bad knocking that showed up in the Super M years ago when one bolt worked out of the flexible coupling behind the clutch, allowing part of that assembly to whack the top of the hydraulic pump. Sounded like WWIII breaking out in there! Simple fix after the pump was out. If you have never removed one of those pumps before, you might want to search the achives for some helpful hints.... It's heavier than most folks expect it to be. DON'T have your head under it when it comes loose! (Skull fractures aren't all they're cracked up to be!)
