I have recently converted two tractors to 12 volt. One a Farmall Super A has a ammeter and when started the meter almost pegs to the right and then comes back to center. The other tractor, a Ford 641, has a voltmeter and when starting the meter will deflect to the left and then come back to center but never seems to go further then slightly over the 12 volt range. I have switched altinators so I know they both work and I know the Ford turns at about the same RPM as the Farmall - mabe a little faster. The battery is new but am I missing something?
