When the 656 first came out in 1965, it had the same sheetmetal/grill/paint styling as the 706. When the rest of the 56 series came out in 1967, the sheetmetal, grill, and paint job were switched to match the 56 series, and looks just like you see in Steven's picture of the 1256.
